CVYBA cooperates with CV School District coaches to provide the optimum basketball experience for CV students.  Each year parents are confused by the options they have with respect to CV school teams and CVYBA.  Below is a summary of your options.

SchoolBoys Girls
Middle SchoolBoys that play on a school team CANNOT play for CVYBA Rec or Travel teams.  This policy is effective in 2007.Girls that play on a school team CAN play on both CVYBA Rec and Travel teams 
High SchoolBoys that play on a school team CANNOT play for CVYBA Rec or Travel teams.Girls 10th and up CANNOT play, girls in 9th CAN play on both CVYBA Rec and Travel teams  

“School Ball” starts in 7th grade in the CV School District.  There are both boys and girls teams in 7th and 8th grades at both Eagle View MS and Good Hope MS. CVYBA tries to work closely with CVSD so the programs complement each other.

CVYBA travel teams play year round, depending on the coach.

CVYBA registration deadlines are intentionally set after school teams are picked so that players who do not make the school team can join CVYBA, and players that make the school team can join or withdrawal from CVYBA.
