CVYBA was founded in 1990 to provide additional basketball opportunities to children in the CV school district geography.  Since then CVYBA has grown to serve over 1000 players and over 700 families each year.

CVYBA practices and plays games in the gyms at the schools of the Cumberland Valley School District.  We work closely with CVSD to provide opportunities that are consistent with CVSD values.

CVYBA attempts to provide fair opportunities for all players.  An equal number of practices and games, as well as equal time in nicer facilities are goals of CVYBA scheduling.

As with any volunteer youth sports organizations, CVYBA quality depends on parents serving as coordinators and coaches.  Questions should be first directed to coaches and then coordinators to increase speed and accuracy of information.  If for any reason we are not meeting quality standards, we encourage parents to provide feedback.

CVYBA is constrained by the amount of gym space available in the district.  While we attempt to have every interested child play, we at times are forced to close age groups.  We encourage parents to enroll their child early to guarantee a place on a team.
