CVYBA strives to have team parity so games are competitive and fun for all.  To achieve this, CVYBA has blind drafts each year.

Coordinators run the drafts, using evaluation scores to group players by skill and experience.  Each team draws players randomly so that each team has approximately the same number of players from each category.

Because CVYBA has had problems in the past with 'stacking teams', our default position is that 'car pooling' requests and other requests that could 'stack a team' are not allowed.  The Board can make exceptions to this policy, and Coordinators can make exceptions to this policy with a majority vote from all coaches.

Once teams are randomly selected, coaches can read any special requests made by players and see if there is an opportunity to honor the requests.  These requests must be voted on by coaches.

Once teams are finalized at the draft, the final rosters are created, and the uniform ordering process begins.

Coaches are encouraged to contact players IMMEDIATELY after the draft completes.
