Dear CVYBA Families:

The CVYBA Board is pleased to announce our 2023 Summer Basketball Program in the Park. The summer basketball program will be free to all registered CVYBA players from first grade to 12^th grade for the 2023-2024 school year. CVYBA wants to say thank you for your patience this year and perseverance. Registration is set to begin on May1^st, 2023, there is no deadline for any registered CVYBA player in the 2022 – 2023 league year. Following are more details:

This opportunity is for boys, from rising (September 2023), 1^st to 12th grades, and girls, from rising (September 2023). 1^st to 12th grades. The exact schedule will be posted on CVYBA.org, by mid-May, and will depend on the number of children registered and the number of volunteers available.

There is no waiting list, but anyone who wants to play needs to register as soon as possible and remember to wear their red/white reversible CVYBA jersey, all basketballs will be provided by CVYBA. Play begins the week of June 12th  and end the week of August 14th. Each age group will play on one evening per week, times will be the same each week and will fall between the hours of 6 pm to 9 pm. We will try to reschedule rainouts as soon as possible after the missed date.

 

New players can register online but must buy a reversible red/white CVYBA jersey for $16, this can be done online too.

The summer league will be a pickup league. No scores kept, no referees, but there will be coordinators and coaches to run the drills, skills and games that will be played by any players who show up that evening. If your player cannot make the schedule each week, that is okay because we will play with whomever does attend on that evening. Again, to be clear, this is not a league, but a series of clinics that will focus on drills and skills but also playing basketball in the form of pickup games each week.

All sessions will be scheduled by CVYBA and held at Pleasant View Park, in Silver Spring Township, in the Cumberland Valley School District. The address is 90 Pleasant View Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17050.

Protocols for safety will follow the Cumberland Valley School District protocols.
