2024 Travel Tryout Information and Schedule

We will be fielding travel teams to compete with other school districts and clubs in leagues and tournaments for 4th-8^th grade girls and 4th-7^th grade boys.  There will be no 8^th grade boys travel team this year.  Middle school teams schedule around the school season (before and after) so players can participate in school and CVYBA programs.

If there is enough interest and volunteer coaches, two travel squads will be formed per age group.  Most teams will be competing to qualify in the Middle School State Championship Tournaments this year.

Several changes have been made to our travel program based on feedback from our coaches and parents.  Our travel program processes and policies can be found in our by-laws (Articles IX and X) here:

The most notable change is that we will have tryout initial tryout sessions and final tryout sessions.  The initial session will be managed like previous years in that independent evaluators will score the players.  The top scoring players will move on to final tryout sessions held by the team head coaches.  The head coaches will have the discretion to make final selections pending approval by the CVYBA Board.

Players must be registered with CVYBA and have selected the travel tryout participation option to tryout. Prospective travel team players must attend one initial tryout session but are encouraged to attend both.  Initial tryout sessions will run from 30 to 75 minutes per session.

There may be additional costs through the season to participate in the travel program.  Players that are on the free and reduced lunch program are eligible to receive financial aid/scholarships.  Please email Mike Verber at dr.verber@verberdental.com for more information regarding financial aid.

• Registration fees for 7th and 8th grade will be put towards tournament costs.
• Registration fees for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade covers league costs.
• Tournament fees for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade players may be an additional cost.
• Travel players will be provided with a reversible practice jersey and a tryout jersey.
• Proceeds from the CVYBA Keystone Tip Off State Qualifier Tournament
• On top of CVYBA registration fees, there is a $25 non-refundable feeto participate in tryouts.
