CVYBA was founded in 1990 to provide additional basketball opportunities to children in the CV school district geography. Since then CVYBA has grown to serve over 800 players and over 700 families each year.
Our typical season time frame:
September - registration
October - player evaluations/team drafts
November - practices begin (1 or 2 per week)
December through February - Up to 10 games total (games played every Fri/Sat) with 1-2 practices during the week

Basketball Programs for all CV Students K through 12th
Kindergarten Program
2-3 Saturdays focusing on basketball fundamentals. This program is designed to give your child a better understanding of basketball skills needed to play in our recreation program.
1st Grade Program
Our first grade program is similar to our recreation program. In this program the focus is on basketball fundamentals and teamwork. Players will start the season in open gym style practice sessions for a few weeks and then teams will form. Once teams are formed there will be 1 practice during the week and 1 game on a Saturday.
Recreation Program
Players in grades 2 through 5 will participate in open gym style sessions for the first few weeks of the season. Afterwards teams will form and will begin private practices once a week with a game on Saturday.
Players in grades 6 through 12 will have evaluations to form teams prior to the first practice. They will have 1 practice during the week and a game on Saturday.
CVYBA Travel Program
CVYBA offers a travel program for any player in 4th through 8th grades. Travel teams participate in local tournaments and are seperate from our recreation program. Travel teams have evaluations in October and their season typically runs until April or May.
Outdoor Summer Program
The summer league will be a pickup league. No scores kept, no referees, but there will be coordinators and coaches to run the drills, skills and games that will be played. If your player cannot make the schedule each week, that is okay because we will play with whomever does attend on that evening. We will try to imitate what we did this spring.
All games will be played at Pleasant View Park, in Silver Spring Township, in the Cumberland Valley School District. The address is 90 Pleasant View Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17050.
